I have nothing to apologize about. I understand their point and feelings, so understand mine.
Plus, I'm not here to set any sort of example. I don't consider myself above anyone. The only people that I have a responsibility to, is my children. I think you are missing my point , _salisae_

I just see it as controversial but am unclear as to why that is always a good thing.
- _salisae_0
if your children had just been kidnapped and someone came over and made jokes about kidnapping kids you'd think it was inappropriate
- d5ive0
That post is not a joke.
- _salisae_0
no - but it's making light of a dreadful situation
- Anarchitect0
so is crashing planes vids on 9/11?
- d5ive0
It is not making light of anything. If you read it that way, then so be it. But just becasue this has happened, doesn't mean that we have to keep our eyes shut to the beauty in the world.
- nick0
i actually don't think its making light of anything. it's the other side of the equation.. the beauty in it all.
- _salisae_0
sure sure but you are forgetting about tact.
- d5ive0
Anarchitect, I wasn't posting freakin vids of waves killing people or anything negative. Again, read what you want to out of it. If the NT boyz delete it, so be it. I don't mind controversy and I'm not going to remove it because some of you are offended.
- Plusone0
I think the issue people are having Paul is that your making a statement may not quite be as strong of a feeling as those who oppose it. Do you know what I mean? It most likely means a lot more to those who are offended by it than it means for you to post it.

I thought Paul's verbiage in his post and the content was cool and I made zero connection between recent unfortunate events. Maybe i'm jaded though because I surf, I bodyboard and I frequent the beach living here in SoCal. Maybe we are jaded by that and not as hypersensitive as some others are.
If any of you know Paul you would know he would never do such a thing as make light of the current situation. Move on.
- BonSeff0
the whole arguement is that your post is people taking advantage of nature's surf,
shortly after nature's surf just ran amok. the parallels are that hard to read into.
- d5ive0
Just becasue people are offended, by something. Doesn't mean that the rest of the world has to stop everything they are doing.
- nick0
the tact is debateable, its an interesting post to say the least. my intellectual side actually commends it... because there is a beautiful and tragic truth to it.
but the point Plusone has raised is equally and if not more valid.
- Plusone0
you're right Paul. Nobody has to stop doing everything they were doing, but there is also nothing wrong with being respectful since we share the planet. Nothing wrong with listening to the crits and maybe changing your opinion. People are still looking for people. It's only 4 days old.
- d5ive0
BonSeff, you see it as taking advantage of. As a surfer, I would never think of it that way. Surfing is a dance between wave and man. If you surf, you would understand.

I try and find beauty in everything, whether good or bad. My point and feelings are, that I don't see how something so small can be so offensive. That's the reason why I'm not going to remove it.
- nick0
hmmm... i'd hardly belittle the post. it raises quite a grand issue... which is why i commend it.
- Plusone0
" don't see how something so small can be so offensive. That's the reason why I'm not going to remove it."
that may be a good reason. If you can't see the reason then why not trust others who are offended who claim reason? even if you can't see it? do you think we are offended because we just want to see it removed? I can tell you that I for one am whole heartedly offended from deep inside my heart. Will you not trust and respect that?
