don't have asthma but many years of smoking has made my lungs super weak. everytime i get sick, i feel like i have bronchitis. no good.
- lvl_130
have it, but only on really cold days. i used to have it and was diagnosed with excersize induced astthma, but just kind of grew out of it.

bronchitis.
it really sucks and i was forced to quit smoking as that combination is quite dangerous..
- dddc0
ok lets discuss this because i too got something like that.. asthma or bronchitis only because of the smoking
what do you do or take to treat your problem?also lets share some quick tips we use to calm our symptoms when the shit is acting up...........
i've been taking hot baths with olbas oil.....
soup helps of coursei need to get rid of this shit
and dutchboy this is recent right???
- grafholic0
dutchboy...did you really quit? last time you were *thinking about* quitting.

quit smoking. now.
moisture definitely helps. sometimes you are coughing because you need to rid of some crap inside your lungs, in which case don't supress it.
if it's really really bad, i start drinking a bottle of jameson and a shot of codein syrup.

I had to have an enhaler in the summer... hayfever induced... doesn't help that I lived on a lane next to Epping Forest!... Have moved now, but am dreading next summer, I had a couple of weeks of sleepless nights from it. It may have been stress for work also, but not sure!

Same as JamesEngage... except I don't live near Epping Forest...

ddcc i had bronchitis when i was a kid, every year.
now it came back quite hard, and i almost fainted a few times by smoking a cigarette.i have asked here and there, internets, relatives, doctor etc. and they all informed me about the extremely dangerous combination of smoke (also smog and stuff) and bronchitis.
very, very, very bad.
so quit now.
i am chewing nicotine tablets and chewing gum like there's no tomorrow.. but it helps.

hot baths and steam are one of the best cures for bronchitis becasue the slime breaks lose as it sort of melts and then it is easier to cough it up.
but dust and smoke is bad, really BAD.

i have asthma but i haven't had an inhaler in 10 years. i should really have it around i guess.
- IRNlun60
I have had asthma since I was a wee lad and I carry my inhaler everywhere. My best advice would be to go and see your local allergist. Medicine can do some pretty amazing things nowadays...my doc tells me that I now have 90% lung capacity and my asthma may be curable, plus I smoke lots of nug, exercise, surf and snowboard with no problems.
go see a doctor.

i now know a bit how it feels to have asthma.
fighting for a breath is painful and tiresome.
thank god, bronchitis is curable, but then it can come back but not as permanent as asthma.

Asthma sucks hard!
Advair does the trick for me. I used to use the inhaler 3-8 times DAILY! It was the first thing I did in the morning and last before I went to sleep. but then I was prescribed Advair, and over night I saw results. I haven't really needed my inhaler in 2 years. Loosing excess weight and strengthening lungs with cardio exercise daily helps A LOT too!

"Loosing excess weight and strengthening lungs with cardio exercise daily helps A LOT too!"
yeah i heard that too, less mass is less need for energy/oxygen.
but then i hardly have any fat, but i certainly could use more excercise..
- DutchBoy0
grafholic, yes i had too.
the bronchitis is at it's peak now, so if i'd take a cig now i'd be on the floor instantly. and that may result in more dizzyness, headaches, chestpains etc..
enough reason to kick those cigs out the door!
