i read an article about kanye west where he discribed copying other peoples styles in his production as a means of finding his own voice eventually, and nothaving to copy once he found it. Sort of an interesting take on this and why we see patterns of the mentioned aesthetics we are all so over.

and thats actually a great point. although i think i would prefer to see more designers being influenced by some masters like saul bass, paul rand, muller-brockmann... instead of riding wwft or demo or whoevers style is getting played the hardest in our little design community at any given point in time.

the reason everyones inspired by wwft, 2advanced, deer heads, badges and pink (just the color cuz im too lazy to articulate more) is cuz its far more accessible than a body of work by say tibor or paul rand... damn the interweb!
