i have quit the day to day smoking but if im out drinking and its 3am damn skippy im smoking and doing a bunch of other shit taking years off me life :P
i think banning in bars is crap esp at the afterhours places where youve got 50 ppl in the bathroom riding the rails but i have to go out in the back alley to smoke? bah

here in boston smoking is banned in all bars...kinda funny to see smokers huddled outside of dives, trying to keep warm as they light up.
There's a big movement to bring it back tho, especially to places that don't serve food, since the whole night life industry has taken a big hit after the ban. Apparently all the smokers were the ones that went to bars and clubs every night and invested heavily into booze.
Personally, i think banning smoking in non-food establishments is kinda fascist. You know what to expect when you go there, and it's just part of the atmosphere. The coal plant across the harbor here is a MUCH bigger polluter than all the smokers in boston rolled into one.
