seriously, if people find this particular website 'difficult to use'..then they shouldn't be using the internets.

eh? I don't mind find. You get used to it. I can understand the confusion.
Erm, anyway, tea time

it's better to read and learn than to criticize and be made fun of, just some advice for life...
always learn from everyone around you and don't immediately (or even after a while) criticize the way they do things...
sadly, this is one of my four serious posts
- tymeframe0
the only reason people tell you to use the find is because they're tired of typing out the same crap every other post........
of course the "use the find button" gets typed every other post too huh.....redundancy to reduce the redundancy.
ok, no point was made here....just move on :)

You seem to forget just how comprehensive this site is... there are three different streams of info here all searchable without leaving this page...
I don't think renaming a button would make any difference... it would make it more obvious if the buttons had big bevels on them, and the hyperlinks were underlined... the fact is people have learnt and evolved from that.

just objectively, isn't "lazy" an oxymoron when referring to those online or any online functions?
and subjectively,
the removal of my posts is not only rude and latently homosexual, but it is also not very trendy either.

Some watches have hands, some have numbers.
Most people actually CAN tolerate a bit of of complexity.
You just can't go 'round making sweeping generalizations that are completely ignorant of context.
Premature typulation is the cause of the problem you're defending, not usability. Most people hit the keys before bothering to work out the system... even the "most pristinely usable" button design and placement will be ignored by the chronic blurter.
You have to be a major league optimist to believe that design can evolve at the same rate as human interaction.
Maybe having a submit button AT ALL is completely archaic. I mean, why should i have to stop using the keyboard, grab the mouse, locate the button, and click it at all (regardless of what it's labelled or where it sits)?

DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS!
DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS! DEVELOPERS!That being said I find the search system horrid and people that just say to use the find button need to chill . The search system is poor. I dont know how it works, but I think it just grabs keywords off the initial post, not the concurrent ones. So until that's made more effective, dont ask people to use the find button unless its for gmail threads...or southpark.

about the buttons..."could it beeeeeee anymore orange?"

and if you look like this http://www.useit.com/jakob/photo… usability should be the least of your worries. And why does he have so many press photos?
