Looking for suggestions or interesting ways to best hang or frame a poster. I've collected a few over the years and I want to put them up in my home and office, but I don't want to hang it up like I would in a dorm room, you know... something besides tape or push pins, pls.

i use these with glass in front and 1/8" hardboard for the back:

I can't find any good frames anywhere around here and these three beautiful ISO50 prints are sad because they don't have a home yet

these are the nicest way to hang a poster that ive seen:

one would beg to differ

or
the floating frames that are just 2 pieces of glass held together with metal clips that you can sandwich the poster between... cant find an example online right now.

jevad: you know what ive seen? in order to disagree with "the nicest that ive seen" you'll need to know everything that ive seen in my lifetime, and somehow i dont think you have

i started a thread on this a while ago, but no one chimed in

the suggestions are pretty good. anybody else got some ideas?
i was considering mounting the poster onto a nice piece of wood with like a 2 or 4" border...? what do you think?
- jevad0
thats a nice idea

generic:
if you try to mount it on wood, use plywood. this will keep seasonal wood movement to a minimum. and use good plywood at that (birch is a good choice).
you can band the edges of the plywood with wood banding...
http://www.woodmagazine.com/wood…even if you plan to paint the edges you'll want to do that.
it would seem like a real bitch to get the poster mounted straight and wrinkle free. i don't have any thoughts on that.

i can't find the clips anymore on ikea's site, maybe they are discontinued. someone besides you posted the same ywft poster pic and someone else posted the link to ikea. i can't for the life of me find the thread and google is useless. sorry. post in the ask build thread, maybe he can hook you up. or check ebay. i definitely saw them. available in turquoise and yellow.

I also have a few posters that I would like to hang, problem is that some of them are unusual sizes (2'x4').
I always like the look of the look of a nice white plastic opaque plastic with a glass covering and no trim!!
Are there any stores in NYC that sell such a thing?!?

PS. I would also like said frame to have a good amount of white space surrounding the poster.

go to home depot and buy some white and clear plexi and some sandwich clips. cut to size and sand the edges.
