actually nintendo's been beating everyone's ass in the portable gaming arena since first generation of gameboys came out. I played the DS a little bit this weekend and I gotta say I'm impressed. Especially since it's still backwards compatible with all the GB advanced games I have now

This is sony's first foray into this part of the gaming market. They handily took the console market from Nintendo and I see them doing the same with portable gaming.

I got a free one and can't wait to trade it in for a PSP in a few months.

I liked their Touch! campaign in Japan.
Sony offers abit broader mobile entertainment system but Nintendo offers a straight forward gaming device but with an interesting, innovative twist. hhhhmmm which one? which one?

sony psp has been tested to only have a little over 2 hours of battery life. sony said it will be improved when it is finally released. my huge desktop replacement laptop gets better battery life. also psp runs on discs which can skip while playing.

Doing more is a plus, yes, but if it doesnt do a good job as a portable video gaming console, the competition WILL take over, even if it has less options or if its more expensive.
Of course is too early to make any presumptions, but looking back in the past, Nintendo has always been the owner of the gaming industry untill Sony Ps1 Made a revolution with their first console. I think Gameboys are awesome, but Im on the look to see what does Sony will do to shake things up again..
