"Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door--that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh -- after that I sorta space out for an hour.
Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work."
Seriously I really don't have a routine per say.
6:30 - wake up, smoke, have water or tea, chat with lady friend, wash, dress
8:30-8:45 - go to work
9:15 or so - have a smoke outside
10:00 or 11:00 - eat quick, early lunch
12:30 - 1:30 leave office for lunch and a pint
4:15-4:30 - go home to change and relax
7:00 or 8:00-on - go over to girlies house, cook, drink and smoke (sometimes TV)
9:30-1:00 - crash for the night

If I had all that time I'd never leave my studio for months on end... I would walk out with a big grey beard and an impressive body of work :)
enjoy the freedom it has granted you Jox. Thats a blessing man.

I am a full-timer, due to the fact that it gives me a sense of security and peace, plus I like having someone else dealing with the business and client side aspects of the work...
That being said, it has taken me a couple of jobs to find the right place -- I like the "10-6" or flex mindset a whole lot better than the structured 9-5. I also am particular about system dynamics in an organization; and thus have worked for successively smaller companies over the years...
one last note: I have also learned that I need to commit to one form of work or the other. Working full-time and handling 20+ hours of freelance is draining, deadening... So now, I try to take on work and start projects as much away from the computer screen as possible.
and so the day goes:
7ish or 8ish: wake!
8ish: run time OR cafe time
10 or 11ish: to work!
2ish: lunch or coffee walk
6ish: towards home
7: urban distractions
10: home projects
1 or 2: bedtime!sorry for the longwinded banter!

if i spend a night at home:
8-8:30am - get up, take a shower, space out, drink coffee, get in my car before parking officer issues ticket.
between 9-10am: get to work.
around 1: lunch, usually eat at work unless i have lunch plans with coworker or friends.
6-7pm: leave work.
evening spent either: working on freelance, reading, playing games, going out with friends, meeting freelancers, learning to play guitar/bass, or my new found boy-interest.if i spend a night at the said new found boy-interest's place:
7:30 - get up, drag myself back to my apartment, take shower, space out, drink coffee, go to work.
10-11 - get to work.
around 1 - lunch
7-8 - leave work, usually go home to work some more.
then, spend some time with my neglected cats.

Very good points emmaopeel, and what I would've said too if I was more eloquent.

Yeah, I'm giving much thought to going illustration/freelance fulltime (with extra income from selling "wall work").
I don't like functioning on someone elses schedule, which I would have to say is the worst part of fulltime work. The benefits are ace tho.... I could break my arm and it would only cost me $15.
Insurance like that would be insane on your own.
so its a give and take.
- sutuoba0
I've worked completely on my own for 2 yrs. and now, I've been in a full time job for about 2 yrs..
I must say, I'm much happier now.
No worries about finding clients, Selling, what my income will be the next month..etc..the full time paycheck is Nice, and when I want something really expensive, I do a little freelance...
