stupid AROD, thinking he can get away with it on national tv and then pretending to be mad after the call was reversed. it was actually a well officiated game except for that first base umpire that called AROD safe even though he missed the bag anyway.

I stand corrected and I will eat crow. Schilling pitched his ass off and the Yanks' bats were as cold as ice. However, and that's a big however, if Beantown cannot beat them tonight, it's back to square one and the disappointment will echo in every crevass in that city. :)

Here's an interesting side fact. Loaiza, Leiber and Arroyo all pitched for the Pirates. lol They all were about to give up or gave up big runs and plays. hahaaa

BTW, Arroyo was NOT blocking the first base line. It's his duty to tag out A-Rod. A-Rod clearly in an illegal fashion jarred the ball loose. That's a no-no.

yeah that whole play was kinda bungled. arroyo should've lobbed it to 1st base and none of this would've happened.

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhh, Arroyo has the damn right to tag A-Rod out as a pitcher. A-Rod is too fast and that play was bungled up as Mankewicz wasn't there to cover. Regardless, A-Rod has no right as a runner to swip at the ball. He can only break it up in stride and that was clearly not a stride, it was more like a haymaker.
