"Any font good enough for German to use on their Autobahn signs is surely good enough for us mortals."
Once posted this here:

..and thought it was sooo cool and creative..
Then a few months later I stopped this guy in a street of Barcelona:
He bought the shirt in Japan and was surprised the letters actually meant something. He made the strangest face when I said "Deutsches Institut für Normung" ;)There is another German font I like, the OCR-type they use for llicense plates. Does anybody know where to find it?

Deutsche not deutcshe. that airport taxi typeface thingy looks like a font called interstate. the font used for german car plates is called FE Schrift. (http://www.kennzeichen.org/schi...
- Baskerville0
Obviously, gotta say Bakerville. The most beautiful typeface ever created, just look at the lowercase g. The guy (john baskerville) was a perfectionist, even making his own paper and ink because everything else available at the time was not high enough quality, he made a blacker ink.
All you guys who said Mrs Eaves: you do realise that is just a badly spaced squashy rip off of Baskerville by zuzana licko.
Err anyway, I like typefaces by Eric Gill too (Gill sans, golden cockerel, joanna etc) and Edward Johnston (london underground)
