Reviving this thread. Been using SketchUp professionally for a few years now in my role as an events focused graphic designer, and it's come a long way in visualizing installations and environments for our team and our stakeholders/clients.

- Hey, it's a really great piece of software, and I believe it would be an asset to many designers.monospaced
- I use it to show 3D comps of various products and setups, making trips to Photoshop almost unnecessary.monospaced

- do you use V-Ray to render this kind of quality?fooler2
- This was done with Twilight Render ($99), but we are going to start using V-Ray any day.monospaced

- Someone in the office needs to turn the lights on?shapesalad
- maybe they hang to low.. I would suggest moving the type on the posters up to match the distance to the ceiling of the type on the door. think crowded roomuan
- This event was last year, but I hear you on the type. The boards and the office windows are each 8ft tall, and the type was eye level or high most of the time.monospaced
- Lighting I played with later in the rendering extension. This was made as I was learning it for the first time.monospaced
- Should I post a couple of renders where I added artificial lighting?monospaced

I used it to design the bathroom we just remodeled as well as some woodworking projects. Working on our patio with it now.
