true ewo, in comparison to what they charge, yes, artists get like .50 on a 18.00 dollar job.

FLIP..FLOP. FLOP.FLIP.
"they make plenty just from releasing an album if there even remotely popular and residuals from each time their song is played or used. It's called licensing."
and
"in comparison to what they charge, yes, artists get like .50 "
...or in other words, talkin out your a$$.

no monkeyshine, actually I know some people in the industry and that's about what they get. lol
- Meeklo0
yeah. concerts, but then again that another story..
plus, I tunes store doesnt have most of the stuff I like, most record stores dont have it either, so, ebay/amzaon and record labels themselves is where I get my music, but for a sneak peak... you cant top p2p
and you probably never will..

actually that's one reason that they have been digitalizing juke-boxes. the number of times a song is played goes into a dB and that artists receives do-re-me.

J, I know lots of people in the industry too and what I think you overlook the complexity of licensing.
Maybe top 40 people are making lots of money but most indie artists (and I'm talking indie labels, not even unsigned) aren't and then there are songwriters who write songs for others. Lots of people do get screwed with p2p...of course they get screwed by the industry too but that doesn't justify stealing.

I love the logic that "the artist makes nothing at itunes or CD's " but when you steal it they make NOTHING AT ALL-
you all know so much about the industry don't you...
big artists make big money- while your on P2P stealing all the "hip hard to find cool guy" music those artists make shit- and they make even less shit when your cheap ass cant pay for songs you claim rule your life- a freakin dollar is too much for you to pay for the soundtrack of your day or week or year...
- although your willing to pay more than that for a bottle of water or a pack of Dentyne Ice...
That is why I fully promote theivery of all your design work-
I say let them rip off your sites and re publish your prints- who they hell are you to think you deserve shit and musicians do not...I was a musician way before I was a designer- and know the drill...
Cant pay a dollar for a song but you wear fucking 200.00 jeans from Diesel - jerkoffs///

I don't mind using iTMS because sometimes they have something im looking for that I definatly wont find on a P2P and its good quaility too. Also its cheaper than a record store.
btw Apple makes 1-3 cents per song and the only reason they do the iTMS is to help the iPod.
