Can't you refer to all th eEnglish traditions of freedom (stress that word) of movement, rights of way over private land that go back centuries, and how this has obviously affected your actions and that they should show some allowancefor your 'ethnic traditions' and assumptions of public freedoms... or something.

and while your at it...ask them why they are so nasty to foreigners...calling them 'aliens' and stuff.
And why no airport in the USA is capable of devising sins that work, to eliminate all that shouting that seems necessary when entering the US.... "I need all you people over here, next to this badly drawn WordArt sign that none can read and which is not in the right place because we couldnt afford any German or Swiss graphic designers".

Man that sucks.
There's got to be a way where you can express you remorse satisfactorially to the owner of the property without the criminal charges.

ribit,
Ever been to O'Hare or Detroit Metro airports? They're both well done. By the way the the Dutch company Mijksenaar did the wayfinding system at JFK if that's the mess you're referring to.

Been thru O'Hare...probaby one of the better ones...You must mean the new Detroit terminal? The old terminals were one of the worst in the world (there was even a case study website done as an example of poor communication design (was on NT...anyone remember it?). A lot of the problem in the iimmigration sections comes down to a non-communication-design-aware culture in the government departments I think. I was arguing with immigration officials because they said I had to fill out the entire 1960's era I-94 form, even though the instructions clearly say to fill out only a portion...etc...
It's such a shock when you leave the quiet, cold efficiency of Frankfurt Terminal 2 to arrive in the old Detroit terminal with its brown carpet, lots of shouting, and confusing Microsoft WordArt signs...

The new Detroit terminal is actually ranked right under Tampa and Denver.

ranked for what?
