p.s. glad to hear there are other archos users out there - TIP: upgrade to the rockbox software, i actually hated my archos UNTIL i got the new better rockbox OS(free).

First off USB 2.0 is not faster than Firewire...Second If you put anything other than atrac on the sony you will NOT get 30hrs of battery life....Lastly the display of the sony is super dim and the sonic stage sofware is crap.
Get and iPod.

I've had a 10GB G1 since they were released and it's still working like gangbusters.
I've used it pretty much every day, mostly 8 hours a day for 2 years straight and the thing won't fuckin quit.
It's the best thing I've ever purchased in my life.

I got a small mp3 player as there is no way I need 10 gigs or more of any music. It also has radio and mic recording and you can fire a line in to record from any format onto the player. Which sold it for me I think the ipod looks nice thats it though. I also down hill bike so a nice dinky player was really practicle just strap it to my arm and go.
