i know it's not officially out yet, but what do you think of it (those who have heard it)?
some of the songs on it make me want to throw my deck out my car window! seriously. they drive me nuts. Discuss.

I think it's pretty bad. I admire the fact that she is trying to do something really unique by only using voices but it sounds really muddled and amateur. And I really like the rest of her albums.
- lvl_130
agreed. there are a handfull of tracks i like on it but more that i don't like

I'm shocked.
Her voice has always been her great asset and she always knew to use it as a musical instrument. I think she's the best female vocalist of all time and these songs may be her best.

hmmm.... understandable cybrain, but i'm still not there. i wonder if this will be one of those albums that 'grows' on me?
track 3 just really kills it for me though "where is the line?" that shit is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.
doesn't seem like many responded to this thread : (. anyone else have thoughts on the new album?

a friend bumped into her at dean & deluca and asked her for her autograph. she said no. jeez, she's not even fine anymore since she hooked up with matthew barney

she is a cartoon of herself. I can't stand that girl.

i love bjork, haven;t heard the latest album yet though
- lvl_130
ah yeah. that guy is sweet. not suire if he is on the album or not. i got it from a friend so i don't have the booklet to check the credits.
- lvl_130
yep rahzel among others...
"Medulla will rely primarily on vocals, with Björk barking her charmingly broken English lyrics over beatbox rhythms. To this end, she's employed not just Dokaka, but also Shlomo (reportedly "the next step for the UK beatbox") and beatboxing legend Rahzel-- best known as a former member of The Roots, and as an erstwhile Grandmaster Flash and LL Cool J collaborator-- who will provide the equivalent of basslines for many of Medulla's 14 tracks."

I've listened to it a few times now. First of all, massive respect for the innovation and originality - it's refreshing to see someone relentlessly pushing the boundaries in the age of corporate owned pop. There are some out of this world moments on there, modern choir arrangements mixed with nice beats.
I'm loving it as a whole -- gets better with each listen.
Bjork is like a great sushi chef - her stuff smells funky - but once it's in your mouth - it's all good.
