hey liquid..
i found a typo on your page holder..'commited to waht they are doing'...
just thought i'd let ya know..
not because i'm a democrat trying to show up a republican (cuz since i'm canadian, i'm neither)..
just a fellow designer that noticed something ya might want to fix..cheers
exby the way tho..
from an outsiders perspective, the whole republican democrat thing seems kind of strange to us..
at any given time up here we have about 3 political partys..
the Tory's (think republican) the liberals (think democrats) and the NDP (think way way democrat left)
plus a handful of others that come and go..
whenever one side seems to be getting to big for their britches, we throw em a curve ball and elect one of the others...and the NDP are good for offering up social programs and keeping everyone else on their toes...cuz losing an election to them is pretty embarrasing...anyhow, people tend to get the government they deserve...
like it or not, that seems to be the way..imho, i hope you all don't deserve bush..
;)cheers guys

and by the way, just incase anyone starts throwing around the 'you're a canuck..you dont' get it, bugger off' type thing (which happens from time to time hahah)
just remember this..
we canucks love america and americans...
hell, i've been on this site for years and have more than a few american buddies because of it..
i think, more or less..a lot of us (and thats being somewhat general) are just nervous about Bush..
lets face it,
even if you're a hardcore republican,
admit it....
he's not that bright..
in fact, it's kind of amazing to all of us that a guy that incredibly subpar (ie, can't speak very well, not terribly well educated, hadn't travelled at all and seen the world at all etc)
frankly, with your country's history, most of us expect someone that's ....well...you know...
presidential...
ya know?hell, some are better than others, and some really shine...but even the worst of the ones that came before, such as nixon etc, were atleast pretty bright individuals..
bush seems..
well, like he's just not a very smart guy..and for the leader of the free world i guess we all sort of expect someone that's kinda intellectual..
anyhow, rant over..
cheers

I agree with you exador. I love my country, but it's predominantly conservative.

ROFLOL at Liquids comment!

Im republican. I voted for Bush.
Not voting for him.
Not voting for Kerry because I hate Edwards.
Not voting for Nadar.Im stuck with the same problem I had last election.
Everyone is always complaining about what party is right or wrong.
Instead of arguing all the time and worrying about little pet projects that will hopefully set them up for re-election do something productive for once.
So many of you here always argue my side is better.
Why worry about it and figure out how to make our country better instead of worrying whos who.
Instead of being so closed minded try to look at a bigger picture here instead of what party you belong too.
FUCK.
- mrdobolina0
there are no poor republicans... doesnt that tell you something?
- devaur0
im not exactly rich mrd...
do you want to become Russia?
here lets make everyone equal.
that way the whole world will be perfect.
I totally think helping the poor out is great. But instead of just handing them money like we do. Help them move up in life.
I would pay more money to help someone make it on their own then to pay them less and let them sit at home all day or working at a McDonalds.
But without corporate america all the little guys would not have jobs. Who would hire us?
What products do you buy everyday? Think about it.
I dont think the rich deserve more tax breaks. That I do agree with.
- illdesign0
Deavaur your making sense man. But, does anyone notice Kerry looks like that dopey guy from the Andy griffith show...not Don Knotts, the other guy. He would say "aww shucks" alot... whatever....
- kpl0
"do you want to become Russia?
here lets make everyone equal."
oh get off it.
No one is saying we should be communist. But you know, they can afford prescription drugs up in Canada. Why can't we be more like them?
- -sputnik-0
since when has this turned into a class struggle? if all republicans are rich, then does that mean there are no rich democrats? please.
this is a capitalist country, people make money and good for them. i don't want to punish bill gates for making billions, and i'm pretty sure he pays more taxes than all of the people on this post's combined lifetimes.
- ronaldo0
" sadly, kerry is the only real hope we have, all i got to say is that that motherfucker come through, else, lord help us... "
exactly...
liquid, wake up
- kpl0
see, why frame it in terms of "punishment"? It creates a false sense of victimhood.
simply put: people that can handle an extra burden should to make it easier for those that cannot. Capitalism works, but laissez-faire is a cruel system.
- devaur0
kpl
you are right prescription drugs are cheaper in Canada. I have to buy my own prescription drugs.
I do agree with you there.
but healthcare is not the best. depending on your social status and how badly you are injured is were you are on the waiting list.
so if you have a bad hip you could wait for 2 years.
unfortunately there is no perfect solution yet.
- devaur0
nothing will ever be fair.
I almost want Kerry in.
Its less chances of Hillary running for president in 4 years.
- mrdobolina0
sputnik, a millionaire's tax cut under george bush is almost 2 times the average middle class income. average middle class income being 50k and the taxcut on a person who earned one million last year being about 75k.
why why dont we just let poor people live in the streets?
- devaur0
yeah well poor people sometimes choose to live in the streets. some struggle.
but if you really want to complain.
what about me? Im middle class.
I pay for all the lazy bastards and the rich.
- -sputnik-0
i say flat tax everyone across the board. get the IRS out of the way and you'll have tons more loot to pass around to the social services.
- mrdobolina0
that makes alot of sense also, sputnik. at least that is fair.
- xaoscontrol0
that's old news...factcheck.org has almost debunked it. there are other things that I've heard about Kerry's actions in Vietnam but I've not heard too much widespread about that stuff.
