Mimio, true enough I suppose but only more right in small degrees.
No matter the promises made by presidential candidates they all must face house and senate that is so terribly divided in vision.
A check of power that by design or luck seems to keep the whole shebang somewhat centered.
Mainly my point is that I really believe that the VAST majority of Americans think, act, and believe very much alike but that our politics in many cases seems to play to the extremes especially during elections.
Ineveitible I guess but it make me a bit sad.

Okay this is me:
--Education is most important. If a school system sucks and a parent cares enough to try to get thier kid in a private school, the state should offer some sort of program that would fund such a thing. School vouchers. Duh. BUT, I don't think it's right that a kid who is trying to get into Harvard or Annapolis should be able to go to one of those special schools where the grading system is easier, thusly ensuring a higher GPA for that kid. That sucks, IMHO.
- I think all this petty PC crap has to go. Though, you can't legistlate hurting someone's feelings. Oh well, waaaaa F**king waaaa.
- I believe that if you’re going to start in with the ‘separation of church and state’ stuff , it needs to be all or none. I don’t like religion being shoved into my face either, but I don’t care much for the idea that something like Christmas decorations could be a violation of amendment rights. I feel the same about the B.C. vs. B.C.E. BS.
- I believe that nobody has the right to tell me how I should raise my kids, which means giving ME the power and tools needed to ensure my kids safety as long as they are under my parental guidance. That means I should be able to have control of my radio or TV if I have an issue with what my kids could be watching.....art is art...crap is crap...entertainment is entertainment.....don't like it? change it or shut it off.
- I care about the environment. I want my kid’s kids to be able to enjoy the same lakes and rivers that I went to when I was a kid.
- I think some control needs to come over immigration. I don’t think they’re ‘stealing our jobs’ but it’s hard to accept that people with poor income almost have to compete with someone in the same boat but can’t speak the language or fill out the forms. Then again, my mom’s from Sweden but she’s been here for 40 years.
- I think some better solutions need to come of the criminal system. First offenses need to be more harsh but offer a chance to make a better life for the offender but repeat offenders are obviously not getting reformed and they sure love thier 3 hots n’ a cot, cable tv and a fitness program. Something’s wrong there. What about releasing 1st offenders to an area where they can’t get in trouble and learn more respect for fellow man? Maybe I’m dreaming on that.
- I think some better solutions need to come of the legal system. We are a litigious nation and we love to file law suits because our tongue got burnt on HOT APPLE PIE.
- I think we need to stop outsourcing labor. We have lots of unemployed people here on the home front. There needs to be a cap on how much foreign labor can be utilized. I understand that it’s probably cheaper to create new microprocessors in Malaysia, but we have people in Nebraska that can sew t shirts and jeans just as well as the 6 year old in Peru. Trade is important as we have just as much to offer the rest of the world in goods as they to for us.
- More support for the small biz owner. Kind of sad when a mom n pop grocery store has to close down because the wal-mart that opened across the street offers the same goods for less....but there’s already a wal-mart two exits up from this one and another three exits down. This is happening in my area, I kid you not.
- I believe in good foreign relations and I believe that our own leaders represent us as a nation. I think that the set the example for our own country as well.
- I don;t have an answer for taxes....we need them, but there's never a sure fire answer. Flat tax sucks for the lower income braket, % sucks for everyone.
Now, what does that make me on the political teeder-todder?
