I'm so used to this design, I need some objective opinions to help me look at it, um, objectively.
How does it look to you? Did I get the UI right? How's the coding?

the blue green at the top kind of phases my eyes, maybe desaturate them a bit or something?

i like the header and the footer - but the inbetweener needs work.

Contrast between the header and the mid section is too different. Perhaps make the "sky" a different shade that compliments.
The bold headings above the links are too tight to the green "grass".
Finally look at your type in the mid section. I know its a blog but it seems like a wall of type with no variety.
don't ghet me wrong, I like it these are just things I would look at.

i think your colors are fine. the only thing im seeing that needs to be taken into consideration is the width of the blog section, or whatever is in the inbetween space, it needs to be the same width as your navigation or whatever you have up there.
also the two fonts you are using dont go well together, imo. use a smaller font or something in the in-between area.
and it would look nice if you put borders around the pictures that are in the in-between areas.

I've been looking at it so long, I don't see the things people get from a cold read.

Not sure if it's my browser or what, but I get big chunks of black space between the header and the work... especially the snowboards.
I would also desaturate the top a bit. too strong a contrast between it and the black.

needs a bit more form and structure...some nice typography....
