i think your colors are fine. the only thing im seeing that needs to be taken into consideration is the width of the blog section, or whatever is in the inbetween space, it needs to be the same width as your navigation or whatever you have up there.
also the two fonts you are using dont go well together, imo. use a smaller font or something in the in-between area.
and it would look nice if you put borders around the pictures that are in the in-between areas.
