I really think that people should be allowed to live with whomever they want, however I think the problem most of the time is with the label: Marraige.
Some people don't like it. I have heard: Life Time Partner before, that sounded good I guess.
About the kids: two single gay men can adopt a child even if their not married, so I don't see how keeping them un-married will help. I do agree it would be weird to have two dads (i had one) but iono what would happen really...
I really don't think we should limit people, however I also don't think we should force people to change to suit something we want to do. Both are bad. The middle is hard to find.
I think God instituted marriage. Call me what you want, I believe alot of things about God and the beginning and all of that, that is me. However, I do not believe half the things some of you say about God, so don't assume that about me either.
Let them have tax write offs and such, just do it in a way that upsets the least amount of people.
Marriage is just a word that men invented, so it can be re-invented. But maybe a new word is in order?
These are really hard questions that _need_ to be asked.

the biblical tone here reminds me once of a Canadian conservative politician (Stockwell Day) believe so much in his Bible that he didn't deny that dinosaurs lived. but he suggested that humans and dinosaurs actually lived together one time in history.

I have been with my girl for 10 years... she is my best friend. We are getting married in September. Why? Why not... I love her and always will- we are happier now than we have ever been. There is nothing "stupid" to me about being with her- starting a family and sharing everything.
Are marriage is to be private and intimate.
If I loved a man the same way or if she loved a woman the same way I would want exactly the same thing.
I don't love her because she is a woman- I love her because she is the woman I feel in love with.

i think the word marriage is much more of a personal/religious word and should be taken out of the context of law. instead put in a word encompassing whatever you might call a couple, like a union or something. then let the individuals figure out their own label with whatever religion they are, whether it be marriage or life partners or whatever the hell you want to call yourself.
