Vault49's new t-shirts are hot! Links are below. I especially liked the Tigerstyle for the guys. It has an illustration of the seven headed beast from the book of Revelation. Great design so I asked the guys about it. But then he mentioned that his friend drew it. But actually I had seen this before in a book! So I asked him if it was the same guy and he never replied. This considered a rip? I guess it would not of mattered cuz he changed up the illstration abit but he got me when he said it was an original illustration from some friend! What do you guys think?

I dont think that is considered a rip because he redrew it in illustrator and its not nearly the same as in the book.... id call it inspiration vs a rip ;)

well he's 'used' the original as near exact reference, I'd call it borrowing..
Pretty lame use of symobolism really, completely misses the point.

well I dont see the point in using such obvious symbolism if it has no meaning in the finished piece, its hollow.

if the original illustrator would sue for copyright violation he/she would win. 75% of the illustration is traced 1:1, people have lost cases for much less.

That's kinda shitty really. That specific piece was the reason I loved Vault49.

yeah..I emailed them like 4 months about that and he did email back with an angry reply...I got the book with the orignial in aswell...but who am I to say something Harrison and Harry? haha...

let's get real here everyone. The New version is sooo damn different form the original! Put yourself in their position, they saw an image, knew they could improve on it, and voila! It looks great! I don't see a problem here.
