endtroducing! [sic]

i think this was meant for the samples thread.
PVN is really complicated like that.. or something.

too bad Private Press doesn't hold the water...
- tymeframe0
you can't really compare the two.
they're just 2 different albums released at 2 different times.

Yeah Private Press, was somewhat disappointing, but there are at least 3 standout tracks on the album. My favorite Shadow tracks are Zimbamwe Legit and In flux. His older shit is fantastic, not quite as cinematic as entroducing, but much more playable.

private press was a bit of a disappointment...but that mashin on the motorway song still cracks me up.
- rasko40
he must have made a fortume in royalties from it just from the amount of times various tunes were used as bg all over uk tv.
- GreedoLives0
yeah i wonder how that works with these with everybody demanding royalties on their samples...how much does shadow get and how much do the original songwriters get.
- iDp0
I kinda dug private repress though. Endtroducing is fucking hot. In fact I think its time for a little shadow.

this is brilliant.

It's really interesting how RJD2 is following the same path. I would equate Deadringer to Entroducing, and Last time we spoke to Private press. Plus they both have that track record of their earlier remixes and one-off productions being stellar. I've seen them both live and they basically are doing the exact same live show, although Shadows' set is much tighter. I'm rambling here, but does anyone know what I'm sayin'?

rjd2 is all up on shadows nutz! but i still love it!

greatest bumps has got some great... bumps!?!

RJD2 is pretty ill, but don't go comparing that shit to Endtroducing. that album stands alone. Plus, RJD2's 1st release wasn't even that hot. He had rappers and shit that sucked.
His new shit is pretty tight tho...
I have to say that at first I though t Private Press was a dissapointment, but now I realize that it is the shit. that album rules. Shadow crushes RJD2.
I like 'em both though. Not to mention th eUNKLE remixes, Tortiose remixes Shadow has done.
- SF20
I can't say i've heard any RJD2 stuff, anyone recommend a good sample to grab off limewire?
- Gilt0010
The Sassafrass Plaid Mix off the "If You Find The Earth Boring" UNKLE EP is hotter than hot!!
Endtroducing pretty much changed my life and does it again everytime I listen to it intently and all the way through.
Shadow's work amazes me and I watch my In Tune & On Time DVD on the regular!

You can totally compare the two, even personal biases aside. Endtroducing was a great record, no doubt and in my mind Deadringer can match it track for track, and I'd even say that with Deadringer having a couple MC tracks on it, gives it a bit more dimension/diversity. That being said, the fact that Deadringer was released like 3 - 4 years after kind of makes it seem outdated. It all comes down to preference, I'm a DJ so Shadows pre-entroducing stuff appeals more to me and so does most of RJ's stuff. If I'm just chilling at home, stoned then I may give preference to Shadow.

but that mashin on the motorway song still cracks me up"
totally agree. great track.
