maybe not. But I don't think that sticker makes me consider the details and meanings of my surroundings.
My impression of the OBEY campaign is that you see the sticker and wonder 'whats that for'. We as a society imediately associate an image with advertisement. So seeing the sticker/poster makes us think. Since it has no directions for us to follow 'buy this, do that' it sticks in our heads. It does do its job, it does make us think and wonder.
But on a smaller scale Shepard Fairly seems to recreate the same thing over and over and IMO nothing he has done since the Andre sticker has given me the same feeling. If you want to show me some seperation of Shepard and OBEY then I see your point that this is a campaign and everything that is done is supposed to carry the same meaning. But if Shepard is an artist on his own and OBEY is a by product of this campaign then I think he's stuck in a rut.
Seriously though this is just my opinion, I'm sure there are artists I admire that you think are shite. I'm sure you think some/all of my own work is shite but thats the leap we take as artists.

That blackmarket site has some really kick ass work! So see if you had showed me that in the fucking first place I wouldn't have been talking out my ass this whole time. :)
On another note, OBEY could try adding new color to the palette (sp?) no?

Oh and 'Obey' isnt a direction...give it a subject and then it becomes direction. 'Obey your thirst' baby!

ahhh you are in NZ...thats who I drank with on sat. a guy from work is on a rugby team and whats even funnier...it just hit me...they are called the black spades. I actually ate a black spade burger (trying desperately to sober up)...it turned out to be the best burger I have ever eaten...thick ass patty, bacon and a fried egg. this calls for celebration man I'm going to grab another beer.

man you will have to come visit to vegas and we will go have a black spade burger together. its a pretty cool bar too, they play soccer and rugby the whole time.
we can argue the finer points of designers better if we get wasted too!

i was in phoenix a couple months back and that was hot as fuk! ...42 degrees C the day i left, and that is a 'nice' day
if it was that hot here on any day the entire city would be at the beach

hehe yeah I was alomst going to move to PHX before I got the job offer here (I lived here for 7 years and then moved to California). PHX is usually 5-10 degrees hotter than here...its nuts...so fuggin hot. Of course I had to move back here in the middle of summer.
At least the girlies wear less out here. :) especially where I work. MUAHAHAHAHA
