I just set up my fiance's cousin with her first interview after college. She's in there right now!
i'm also freelancing at this place for now and it seems cool. I hope she gets the job. I'm so nervous for her!
She's starting as an assistant, but i don't think it would take her long at all to become a producer.
anyone have some funny first interview stories? i had a nice wet clammy handshake for my first. my mom syked(sp) me out before i went in. (damn her)

I went to an interview a few years back and everything was going fabulous. The hr recruiter conducting the interview took me on a tour of the building. Halfway through I ran into a one night fling. I blew her off and never called her back. I thought she was going to stab me with a pencil. When the hr lady went to introduce us, the girl cut in with "yes we met one night before, it was a very, very brief encounter. I doubt he remembers my name" When I left I knew I wouldn't get the job, and didn't.

at my first interview for intern on a design company all went well, I was happy cause I thought I got the intern position..
as I arrived from the interview with my monitor (who witnessed and been there with me) he went for a mon«ment to his office and immediately told me he had received a fax 10 minutes ago saying I wasn't accepted. well.. at least they were quick evaluating my entry proposal and works...

i went on an interview and everything was "ok" he didnt really say anything about my work or anything so i couldnt get a good read - then at teh end i shook his hand and hes liek "WOW! taht is a firm handshake! COme in here i want you to show my assistant how to give a proper handshake " it was wicked bizzare :P

Mine is a little different...I already got the job at this fancy restaurant in Las Vegas, I called the guy who hired me to see how things were going and the guy who answered the phone said that the other guy was out of town. Then he asked me why a few people who were also supposed to switch to this new restaurant had decided not to. So I proceeded to tell this guy that the other people were being wishy washy about it and the way I figured is that sometimes you had to 'Put your balls on the table and see what happened'.
Turned out to be the owner, I have no clue why I thought he was just a helper.

i think the worst was when i lived in austin and interviewed in dallas. i applied online for a job and the salary was kinda low so i emailed the marketing director and asked if it was negotiable. he replied with a standardized email that read: the salary is not negotiable, if you are not interested please do not respond to the email.
so i didnt. then i get a call from the dude and he wants to schedule an interview. so i drive to dallas, and meet with the hr lady first. we chat and get into salary and ask if its negotiable and she gets real snotty with me and says im wasting her time. and i got pissed and explained that i didnt reply to her crappy email and the mkt director called me anyway. she said he shouldnt have. what a fucking joke. dumb fuckin company wasted my time and took 7 hrs out of my life driving up and down hwy35.
i hate interviewing.

I never got a job from any of my interviews. I was called back for a second time on almost all of them, but still got shut down.
Then one day someone called me up out of the blue and asked me if I was interested in a job, and I thats where I am today.
And they found me through Newstoday. Thanks, QBN.
