I have got a hp pavilion zd7000 laptop thats got a 1-4x dvd writer on it but i have bought a 4 speed writeable dvd and it just comes up as if its got 0 bytes available and it cant write to it

do u have to get specific cds dependin on ur dvd drive?
its a 1-4 dvd rewritable drive and i bought a 4x dvd-r

surely some 1 has a dvd writer or has had problems or no;s if u need specific types??

well you have to make sure they are dvd- and not dvd+ dvd r's, but you probably already knew that.
i have had no problems with my dvd r drive as of yet. although when i copy movies onto new dvd- discs they often skip a scene or two. that get's annoying and i cant' figure out how to overcome this problem.
