Nightmare. More arrests now.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_ne…This sucks, they will throw us out of the tournament.
- dstlb0
They've said we won't be chucked out whatever the fans do. Can't find a link but it was the head of UEFA saying it a few days ago.
- ********0
Yeah, he said that although the people being arrested aren't portuguese, there is no obvious link to a particular football match, and unless there is fighting at every venue, on the night of England matches, theyw ont do anything!
F*cking twats though - they bring shame and humiliation on our country, there can be no excuse for it! Neanderthal brawling just to be "harder" than anyone else!
- Elfangio0
Well dunno who is right, here they say 20 went to jail
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/38…
and here they say 30+
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/38…
10+ is a quite a diference...
- Elfangio0
The portuguese online news also talks about the English police that is in Algarve helping out in the detentions. There is a a slide diference between the bbc story and the portuguese version! Wounder why?!
- Chip0
Both say 20 for me !
oddShameless brawling to be hard is true. Pathetic really.
Especially since things have calmed down at Premiership games over the last few years. This dents our reputation again.
Some Japanese people I meet here in Tokyo ask if I like football and when I say yes, they always say "are you a hooligan, since you're English"
branded.
- save0
thats pretty narrow minded...
- Chip0
yes indeed, but unfortunately it's something that people over here associate with the English football supporters.
Was expecting a nightmare for the World Cup here but fortunately I think most of the trouble causers could not afford the flights and accommodation.
- ********0
chip - what would they do if you said yes, I am a hooligan?
- yourmother0
Spaniard - you're just a warm milk drinking dickslap - what would you know about binge drinking?

a little prediction:
Swiss 1, Engerland 0, fans riot and the team are thrown out of the tourny (even though the last game means nothing).

I sent a nice wee email to the BBC after them having
"Twelve Britons are due in court in the Algarve... "
on their site.
I get really pissed off when us scots, the irish and welsh are thrown in the bundle with the english when its something negative.
Say England wins Euro2004 - all the papers will say "ENGLAND WINS"
not
"BRITAIN WINS"When Scotland cleaned up in curling at the winter olympics the headlines were "BRITAIN WINS" rather than "SCOTLAND WINS".
but when its ENGLISH football hooligans rioting - its in the papers as BRITS
... rant over
hope they keep fighting and get kicked off tournament then they can stick it right up their beckham
:P

good point konspiracy.
It's disgusting that these thugs are still ruining it for everyone else...so called 'fans' should be locked away if they are convicted of fighting/rioting.
- unsexypixel0
yeah, and us Irish hate it when we get called British ,Konspiracy. We are a Republic.
- ad10
yeah me too and i'm supposedly officially english. with one less axe to grind the scots and the irish might be a bit happier.
- ad10
; )
- dstlb0
This might put them off... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/38…
'A Portuguese court has sentenced an England fan to two years in prison for taking part in a riot in the Algarve.'
