Example: last saturday, half ot Lisboa was celebrating one of our oldest traditions, wich in part means, drinking in apocaliptical proportions.
The strange thing is that the only problems occured with separate groups of soccer fans.
from one country.
Note: have something on your stomach before having a drink, and don't punch women. especially in an old neighbourhood.

well the US does suck at football for the most part of their history, but one thing is for sure, you're not gonna' get beat up at a soccer game at an arena in the states, lol, unless maybe it's the Argentines vs. England and you get in the way of their drunk anger. ;)

hell I thought something was gonna kick off in denver on sunday watching the game - there were a TON of pikey england supports all wearing flags and chelsea shirts in the pub. And one guy wearing a france shirt - and I stopped counting how many times a brit walked past him and 'accidentally' spilled beer on him

ohhh man, yeah, that happened a few times at a Ireland vs. England game in Woodside, Queens, NYC. Major fights broke lose. Pretty much an Irish place.

12 arrests of english fans, i recon theres that many arests on a normal night in the algarve.
My fondest memory is when the english fans started a riot in dublin during a friendly and the Irish police went in there and beat the living shit out of them. There was a great photo of an english thug covered in tattoos lying on the ground crying like a bitch while a police man beat him sensless with a trunchon.

well i guess when it comes to english fans, they have a reputation, and no policeman is going to take any chances. I would love to see how you felt if you saw your town being smashed to peaces by these thugs.

I admit, can't be nice and I'm, not siding with hooligans at all but I do think the England fans get the finger pointed at them too much.
Germans are as bad, and the Turks and insane.I guess if you put a load of fans in the same area at one place and supply endless beer, things are going to go wrong !
Remember Euro 2000? All the games in Belgium had some violence of sorts. Too much beer.
All the holland games were fine.
There were pictures of English fans with German Fans in coffee shops stoned together.
Weed all round I say.

agreed, smother them with weed. but im tired of people that say its alcohols fault, or its the fault of video games or its the fault of drugs. People need to take responability for their own actions. If your fat, stop eating shite, if you get roudy when drunk, dont drink so much and if you steal cars stop playing vice city :)
