BWUAHAHAHAA!! Longhorn's all new 3D capabilities is putting drop shadow's on windows? Yee haw.
I can't wait to see what Tiger will do to make my G3/800 iBook even more obsolete. Kidding. I love my iBook and I love it more now that I hacked the video card and when the AirportExpress is released, printing will be a cinch!

the great thing about Apple is that they got ZERO customer service.
i bring back the Mac to the shop and they say, well you need to call Carecenter first.. so i do..
then the Care Center tells me to go to the store.. and the store tells me to back to the care center.. back and forth.. care center finally says that they will get back to me.. and what do you know, they say they cant accept it as a return cause its passed the 2 weeks return period...
o did i mention that my lap top dies after 1.3 hrs? and they wont take the BATTERY BACK !

Really too bad! 5 times! So will airport express work with any existing wireless router? Even an .11b?

applecare. lifesaver. no problems here with repairs, they actually pick it up, repair it, and return it in 3 days. love apple....

well they told me that the machine has no significant problem..
so, i guess, battery dying in 1.3 hrs... and major crash now and than.. are not significant problems

I'm actually in the boat with Dinky. Since I had my laptop I've had to reset some power management thing because it takes 30+ seconds from the first ding to the apple loading screen, which it still does. Then my shift button was sticking so they had to order me a new keyboard...today my battery decided it doesnt want to charge anymore, so now I have a new battery on order and I have to use the Adapter. Oh and this machine is 3 months old. Yes long live the Apple indeed. pfffft

i have had a compaq presario for 3 years and it has never needed a service, ever. but im sure there are apple laptops that lasted just as long.
i still use my compaq as my main machine at home. the thing is rock solid

like cars computers all break down, must be maintained, and do the same thing. Are hondas and toyotas really that different. i think not. they do drive a little different but one really isn't better than the other.
if you have a wireless router you wouldn't need this airport express unless you are going to use it for its printing or airtunes capabilities.
i think longhorn will be quite an OS. gates is betting the the future of microsoft on it.

iDp you really think you can judge a whole product by 1 experiece... i know it sucks but for every bad experiece there are tons of great ones.
If you had to talk to PC people on the other had about hardware.. i bet you would get awhole lot more complaints than with mac people

if you are just into music, get this doohicky, its only 40 bucks

Don actually I never said anything about the whole product line. Just mine is turning out poorly. I hope this is the last of it.
As far as PC's go, yeah I've had my problems but not like this. This is 3 months and three problems, two of them needed to be brought into service. My PC's I build myself and really no problems with hardware ever. Don't get me wrong I like my mac...im a switcher like you, however I cant seem to get comfortable with the color spectrum on the Mac flat panel, and the workflow seems slower (which I'm sure is just the change from PC to Mac). But for print I'm sticking with my CRT. One of these days I need to hook the CRT to the laptop.
