Hey unfit, on the Reagan vs. Communism note, I used to see old Iconography of the Portguese /Angolan Communisto Party in both Southern Angola and Luanda. Crazy, interesting stuff. Fidel used to cruise over there and met with the Ruskis.

unfortunately it's whole lot more complex than that article. The line between Good and Evil [if such line even exists] at the time had almost the same value of the colonial imposed borders, disrespectful of the true nature of the tribes. meaning: little.
And that behaviour had more to do with tribal struggles. Nothing related to ideology [regardless of one's opinion about it], that srved more of an identifier, a color, a flag.
PS.- next friday I'll finally see the Pixies. I'll send'em your love.

Ken Dunwoody, who grew up outside Dixon, said Reagan, while an icon of Republican politics, transcended political partisanship. ``I just think of him as being an American,'' said Dunwoody, 82. ``I wish we all could get back to that.''
What happened to good old America

it started waking up...angrily, with moments of denial, but it woke up...and once it realizes where it is, it's not going to be very happy...

ehhh, I don't believe so, I think America is just fine. Everyone has to stop being so negative here.

Well put, JazX.
I was waiting to see how long it would take for someone to dog out the man. I think it's sad that people feel the need to have to do that. Nobody did it when JFK was killed or when Di was killed...but someone's got to bust on a former president that way.
Can't even be respectful of a fellow countryman that has passed when we need patriotism badly.
What's up with that?

Xaos,
It means that some of us don't care for all the blind reverence concerning this mans history as a leader. To me he represents the beginning of the end of a moderate governing politic. Once an actor...

I agree with JazX!
Everyone complains about how terrible it is here.
Then why live here if you hate it so much.
If Reagan was so bad. Who is a better President?
- devaur0
why cant some people just be thankful that they are living here.
you could be living in haiti

I'm very thankful and I love other countries too, what's wrong with that?
- sauceruney0
that's right, bend over and accept what we have left of the constitution as all we've ever needed and they'll take the rest of it away while you sleep

People hate the US for the same reason people outside of LA hate the Lakers, the people outside of New York hate the Yankees, and the people who didn't go to Duke hate Blue Devil Basketball.

I still remember when putting nuclear missles into germany was a hot election topic in 1980. Reagan got his way there and forced the russians into a showdown which they ended up losing in 1996.
He did this by breaking the bank and through probably more CIA-related scandals than any other president. Was it worth it? Maybe our children will know.
I personally did not care one iota for that pretender and found alzheimers a very fitting end for him.
RIP.

greedo...my kids are old enough to say that the end result of ending the cold war was worth it....Reagan was thinking about trying to free the entire world from communism..he was thinking about OTHER people ...which wasn't too popular during the 'ME' decade......but, OMG...he still served two terms. I guess someone liked him.
And, yes..clinton served two terms as well...and people liked him too.....imagine that.
