That he did some good there is no doubt.
That he ran up a 2 trillion dollar defecit during his first 4 years as Pres, the higest ever, there is no doubt.
That he was both a fair, honest, and decent man, at the same time as being a forgetful and episodically eloquent speaker...there is no doubt.
That he died of such a deteriorating, dabilitating, and horrible disease is regretful.
Pay respects to the departed, but don't blind yourself to the facts of his tenure as Pres.

Have you guys been paying attention to anything that's been on tv about him over the past couple days? Before he came into office, businuss was dead. People even questioned whether a presidential system could continue to be maintained. My father-in-law lost his business because of Carter's terrible work. Reagan's tax cuts boosted our economy ten fold, and again in the 90's (which clinton was happy to take credit for). He was a visionary. He had confidence and the people around him helped to do some great things that have reverberated over the years. With nothing else, just the way he was with his wife earns him my respect. Most people don't know what really happened because their liberal college teachers only teach their opinion of things. The mindless college students just eat it up without even questioning it. Oh, and it's also cool to bash people.

Reagan was a different kind of president. He was an honest man. He cared about his country unlike some presidents who would careless about their people.
If you worked for the government under Reagans presidency you would see how efficient and productive this country was.
It was not until Bush and then later Clinton came into office and our country began to go backwards. More mindless paperwork. More spending on useless crap.
Not every president is amazing or perfect.
But Reagan was different. He saw the world differently. He saw it full of joy and laughter. Thats what I admire about the man.
He died in honor today. He died as one of the greatest presidents of our time.

tank love the response.
I remember reading the story about how they would be driving down the streets in the motor cade. Reagan couldnt figure out why everyone would be laughing once his car reached them people. Later he finds out his Secretary of State would wear a comedic president mask of Reagan and wave to the people. It just happened that the Secretary of State was always before the President.

omfg are you kidding me?!
he was all about 'Us vs. Them' - he did everything he could to antgonise the Russians and whilst it is true that he had a small part to play in the Cold War Detente, he still had a lot to do with starting a foreign policy that to this day, plagues the US.

he was a total BADASS IMO. People always took him too lightly because of his demeanor, yet he managed to do a lot of good.

trillions of dollars of debt... not really the mark of a great president.
