It's gotta be fun paying to work for your company... lol
I don't blame him for posting something like this though. Experience is vital and for people who can afford to do pro bono work all the power to them.
It's just sad that a corporation can't pay at least min. wage.. tsk tsk.

I would galdly pay upwards of $900 a month in rent...$200 in food..and do it for free....all on my savings!

thanks for everyones supa flames... actually. i JUST started here. and all i am doing is putting out a call.
if i was hungry and living at home with mom like some people are.. having hot 97 and emmis on your resume is very very far from a bad thing.ego.. me? far from it people. i don't make the rules. i'm making the opportunity available for people here. if it dont apply and you feel the need to slam me for opening the door a little then fuck yourself.
bottom line is that i am not looking for someone with day 1 skills nor am i looking for someone with mid level abilities.
as for the site. right now.. i am not happy with it at all but if you knew the amount of time it takes to just keep it moving as is you'd see why an intern is needed.
yes they had an intern contet with angie and in 2 months the intern was offered a paid position.
everyone's a designer because they know photoshop or think it's cool.
the other thing that goes with that is the fact that everyone with a computer and a fucking pirate copy of flash thinks they should be paid these crazy salaries and whatnot.there's work out there sure. and unless you are some design god and can start at the top.. it's called earning your stripes.. comeuppance.
the ego to check would be your own if you go back and read your own shit.
herbs.

damn, are you guys THAT desperate for an intern?
- shankd0g0
nah. it's not that. we have plenty of them in the station.
i'd rather give someone a chance who WANTS to be in the field the relevant experience. i could just grab any one of the interns here and bring them into interactive.just trying to look out and i got shitted on. par for the course in PVN i guess.

Why did you all go off on this guy?
Yes, some big companies don't pay interns, but they were going to give college credit for the position, which as most of you know, equates to money since college classes are expensive.
Also, I drove for almost 2 hours one way for 3 months to my internship and was being paid minimum wage, but the place was the shit and they helped me get a new job immediately afterward.
Don't knock the guy for trying to give people a chance to work at a radio station and pick up some experience and good contacts. If you don't want to do it, then don't.
By the way that bullshit about people who didn't do design in high school shouldn't be working. That's just crap. If you have skills, it doesn't matter when you start.

Thank you, shant. I'm glad someone sees the sense in this.
I was grateful for ALL the college credits that I could earn without having to come out of pocket. That's just x-amount more that you'd have to pay back in loans with interest. Plus... if you don't want the position just don't apply. No need to be stank about it. dag.
