The Interactive Department of Emmis Communications is looking for interns! This department updates and designs the 987kissfm.com, cd1019.com and Hot97.com websites.
Students will focus on internet marketing and promotion.
A major in Web Design or Graphic Design is perferred.
Applicants MUST be versed in HTML basics and should also have a working knowledge of Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop.
Applicants are encouraged to have a friendly, outgoing, HARD WORKING AND FOCUSED personality and MUST be currently enrolled in an accredited college.
The internship is UNPAID and we do require that you receive college credit for the internships.

Applicants will be screened for and chosen based upon demonstrated design ability and previous experience if applicable.
We are looking to fill the daily schedule ASAP for the SUMMER SEMESTER. Internship is for one semester only.

Just to give you a heads up, next summer if you want more (and probably more qualified) applicants, most legitimate companies hire their summer interns for each summer during the winter/early spring before. So perhaps next year you should do the application process then.
Oh yeah, and giving no living stipend at all is a shitty deal, unless your company is really at the very top of it's field.

im a college student whom is employed and looking for more work, but there is no way im working for free, espically over summer. i myself am infact looking for my own inturn for my own project, but i don't make any money so i can't afford to pay, from what i understand is that you can but you won't? Funk Dat!

oh yah and i hate it when people stress you MUST KNOW HTML AND PHOTOSHOP AND FLASH! your only going to get shit workers because from what i have seen from my college and others is thats all they teach, you come out with a BA in photoshop. If you don't know this shit like the back of your harn when you left high school you shouldnt be in the feild to begin with. i really fucking hate it when people decide to become designers because they think it will be 'cool'. Serisouly though, im developing a scrolling program the functions like a mobyous strip and you need someone to set up tables and load 'party pictures' for free?
I dont mean to hate, im just bored and need something to bitch about.

The truth is the Hot97 web site and others are bullshit... You won't learn anything at that internship unless you are a complete novice. I applied 2 yrs ago - went to an interview and turned down the job. Waste of time...

this thread seemed to backfire.
but seriously. as a recent college graduate, i have worked a free internship... and only because it was an extremely small firm and they do amazing work... and normally they don't take on interns. and given all that... they ended up cutting me a check at the end of the term for the work i did.
good luck on getting some students that know what they are doing to apply for this.
