Why (MT)?

I have come across tones of sites who sport the "hosted by media temple" (especially design/art sites). What is the advantage if any? Price? support?

i asked the same question a while ago
and after signing up for (mt) i am glad i did.. i browsed a ton of other hosts and while alot offer much more space and transfer compared to mediatemples lowest plan.. i would still pick mt
webcontrol is one of the better control panels i have used, the support is unbelivably fast .. plus they have a well designed site themselves...
i cant stand visiting hosting companies and seeing shitbag sites

after years of using cheap hosts, that go out of business overnight, loose your files, and then re-open the next day under a different name, you too will move to a decent reliable host

my old server would always give me an error on at least one element each time i visit my own site.
oh yeah, they host old flash files too. i had to change the file name for updates to show up.

We designers are suckers for brands, if all the top pro's sites are hosted there, and you host there, that will make your site look like if you where a pro, at least for the design comunity, show me 1 site, that is hosted there, and doesnt say it anythere on ther site?
Would you be proud of sporting somebody elses hosting logo?
I dont think so..Its just aesthetics, support? prices, control panels? there is tons of hosting companies all over the world that will match what they do, i dont think that is the reason.
It like Ipods, you dont want to get a mp3 player, those are lame, you want the ipod, and you will never replace the lame earphones, for a real set of headphones, why? cause the white cable is a symbol. If you rock a black cable, then you dont have an Ipod.
Come on, addmit it.. we are suckers for all this marketing crap..
