I talked to a couple today also but they're thinking about it. I have one more in mind that will probably sign on.

You rseriously dont think it came to a point that their logo is almost like a "staus symbol"?You are telling me, that there is no other hosting company in the whole planet, that can beat or match what they give you?
Im not saying they are bad, I have no experience with them so I don know, but I do think that the way their marketed their services, its great.

cause they are simply the best... they rock.. ive tryed a bunch.. but MT has crazy user support.. 24/7 tecch support...

i was hosting in MT and i just decided to write "another site hosted by MT" i think they got mad at me.
but, once youre hosting there you kind of feel like having that logo there. lol
besides that, i was really really happy with their service, and very confortable also, i still send clients there, but i cant aford it these days. so im at a cheaper place now.
but theyre great.

Why do people place (mt) Media Temple on the site? Many of you are correct:
Meeklo..it's marketing..When Demian started the company, his first client was a designer..BAM..there was the light bulb: Develop a strong brand and market to those that market for others (those being designers)
Marketing is NOT skin deep. Those commenting on the service and technology are also correct. Marketing to an advanced-user audience means developing quality, forward thinking products, optimizing your network and staffing accordingly. Our current, product line, server technology and support staff have been crafted to serve advanced users/designers.
One final point: Who do you see at the design conferences, the BD4D events and art openings? We visit and support these conferences/events to build strond community, give our clients face time and take input.
So the bottom line is thank you for noticing the hard work.

Rock on dudes, you guys have fascilitated global exposure for a lot of young designers and initiatives unable to afford hosting service. Next to being a great beand-building strategy, it is also a noble goal.

I've got 5 sites all hosted for one payment of £8.99 a month.... if they can beat that i'll defect.

i could never remember the password and it wouldn't let me change it to something nicer. also if you want specific support on an issue that doesn't fit into one of their little drop-downs there isn't any way of just speaking to someone there.
they have no doubt improved it since then though, i don't use them any more.

when i was at university and i was poor they were quite ruthless about payment and would shut down my site and email if i didn't pay them. fair enough i suppose, but i still prefer Rackspace. oh Rackspace how i love thee
