Let's see______________
regarding design I only see the work of individuals/agencies, and you do see great work from all over, it's quite difficult to see a country's signature in the work produced, except for elements related to their specif living/social environment.

I dont see any difference in design styles between designers these days, let alone countries...

I completely agree with unfit, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

dripping deerheads are globalized these days.
- dstlb0
It's all gone international, people pull influences from all over the world so there's much less of a distinct style coming from each country these days, and it's hard to say who's best when you don't know where it came from.

good point andy.
Swiss deisng was brought up - that's a classic and a definate style...

the intraweb's totally globalised design styles, in spain if you take the big, ahem, 'designers' from the 80's then they've got a definite spanish style, but the younger designers chew up and spit out trends like there's no tomorrow. I suppose alot depends on how design is taught and how that differs from country to country. Alot depends aswell on clients, over here they're not as broadminded or willing to take a risk as in the UK...

It's a godd*amn global village

not only is this thread gay but when did Europe become a country?

Most ignorant thread eva.

4 words:
design is global today.
over.

Just as large parts of our other culture product - film, music, literature, art, television, fashion - design has globalised. There is no distinct national style that reflects a nations value - let alone a cultures value. This is because there are no nations anymore*
*hyperbole

Isn't European web/graphic design (on average) more minimal/elegant/individual (or 'obscure') than the more commercial/ecommerce-driven orientation of US work? Or am I generalizing like crazy?
- jevad0
oh fuck off mimio - all I was trying to do was open a debate on the different design styles of different countries you twat.
I may have phrased it wrong but USA vs UK vs SWEDEN vs SPAIN vs. RUSSIA etc didn't have the same ring.
God fucking forbid we should have a decent conversation about something on here.
Cunt off.

You seem to have a knack for broad mindless statements Jevad. I'm all for intelligent conversation where it's pertinent, but the concensus seems to be that this thread is about as useful as going to Walt Disney's "It's a Small World" ride and trying to discuss globalization.

I don't think the differences are as evident anymore with this whole internet thing.
I would probaly break US into West/Mid West/ East.
Shit coming out of the Midwest looks very different than stuff around here.
