Draggin my ass into work. This hang over was well worth it. I only did day one, but Radiohead, Rapture, LCDSoundsytem, Beck, and many others were satisfying enough, especially when you're holdin on to that gold artist wristband which was open access to pretty much EVERYTHING! Met RickRuben and that dude from Buffalo66, kicked it with SaulWilliams and Beck, also posted up with Hieroglyphics. I felt bad for the general public, the heat was ridiculous, and for the amount of water i consumed, i couldnt imagine having to had to pay for that shit. The slices of pizza in the tent were cool-the grease that dripped on my shirt was not. One great thing about the heat was that the female population definitely gave us guys more than enough to feast our eyes on between sets -HotDAMN! Over all it was pretty laid back compared to previous events, there werent enough quality hip hop groups, I did not have the Scarlet Johansen sighting I was hoping for, I didnot get to slam of few beers back with Radiohead whose artist trailer was plush, but i did come back with a very special pair of rayban pilot glasses i cant quite disclose exactly "WHO" i got em from!!! Anyone out there have any unique experiences? Campers? Day Two'ers? I'll post my photos shortly

Thanks, but the most important question is (if you saw them) what is The Cure's new stuff like?
- jevad0
and you mention NOTHING about the pixies?!? wtf?
- arseni0
my friends went there for 2 days... sure they'll bring some pictures..

Dude, the Pixies were dope! "Beck, and many others were satisfying enough,.." Sorry I didnt mention them. The did an awsome interview at the press hut late in the afternoon so i got some cool upclose shots. And the Cure played DAY 2. I only stayed for Day1, had shit to do Sunday. I wish i couldve done the whole weekend but like i said, I was satisfied with my Saturday. What were the cure like. Was dude all fat and old? Where are the Day2 folks? And how long did it take anyone to actually exit the parking and get to the freeway? Wasnt it like HOURS! WTF! Next time I go by helicopter, or have the Ducati waiting.

we've been listening to 'em at work...they sound like they aged well.

kraftwerk were amazing! they played house versions of old songs, had great visuals. they were really dancy. they were my favorite. the cure- oh god it was painful. their new stuff is awful. i don't think they picked up their instruments before the show, they were bad.
radiohead, of course, great but i wanted them to rock the house but they played a decent amt of slow stuff. what a beautiful setting- desert with mountains an palm trees. beautiful! :)
- Gorbie0
the pixies rocked so-oo-oo fucking hard. it was awesome. hot as hell, but my tan is beautiful. girls everywhere. beer, drugs, beats, and sun... this year rocked.

The Pixies are coming to Randall's Island, NYC for Lollapalooza this Summer. I will do everything I can to go.

mmmmm-ogwai
- Eli0
did Mogwai make you deaf? They try, they always try.
- mg330
I've seen Mogwai twice in clubs, took my GF to the Chicago show and gave her earplugs and said "You want to hear at all this week, right?"
Mogwai are incredible. Most have been awesome to see them in that setting.

Got back late last night, and i'm still trying to rehydrate and scrub the dust out of my pores. It was 106 degrees of hot as shee-it, but worth every minute.
Day 1:
The Pixies waddled out and destroyed all prior bands. I can't believe how much they dominated.
Day 2 Highlights:
- Andrea Zollo (Pretty Girls Make Graves) decided she had to "keep moving around because the stage is burning holes in my shoes".
- Dude from Broken Social Scene proposed to his girlfriend on stage.
- DJ from Atmosphere had to switch records mid-song because the vinyl melted to the deck(!)
- Geoff Rickley (Thursday), after telling a story about how he's supposed to be at the hospital from being sick all week but "fuck it he's gotta do this show", launched into song number 3, collapsed onstage, didn't get up, started making gurgling sounds, puked up everywhere, wobbled to his feet, and proceeded to finish the remaining 5 songs of the set. Omigod, hardcore kidz rule...
- The air-conditioned Playstation tent.
- The kid in the banana hammock.
- The other kid with the Afro / Tigger / Neon Butterfly getup.
- Wayne Coyne (Flaming Lips) descended from outer space (if you were there, you'll get that one), and crowd surfed over like 1,000 people in a giant clear plastic inflatable bubble.
- I drank 6 bottles of water and 4 smoothies in 10 hours and never had to pee. Not once. Ridiculous.

wow... I don't even know where to begin with this:
DAY 1:
PIXIES - ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. BEAUTIFUL - SO GOOD... I am really emotional over that show.
Beck SUCKED... but then again - it was pretty imprompt-to... so maybe it was brilliant - I was just pissed that they jammed him in the smallest tent when they should of damn-well known that everyone would venture forth to him.
Radiohead - never been a huge fan - but they definetly brought it.
Death Cab for Cutie - brilliant.
OH!! ELECTRIC 6 WAS PERFECT - and they were hilarious to boot.
... so much more to comment on... but I don't know where to begin.DAY 2:
Cooper Temple Clause was pretty damn good... loved it.
AIR - PERFECT, BRILLIANT - MY GOD.
Belle and Sebastian - they brought it.
Flaming Lips - ASSHOLE WOULDN'T SHUT UP ABOUT POLITICS... so screw them... I ditched most of that set to check out ...
BASEMENT JAXX -- DAMN FUN. They showed up w/all the original 'outsourced' artists that sang on the last two albums.... brilliant fun. Love 'em.
CURE...
There were so many other bands there - I don't know how to comment on the experience. The sun... the heat... the people.. the dust - none of it got to me.
I literally bumped into Andy Dick... goofy little bastard was a sweetheart though. hehe
yaaaaawwn. I left after fascination street.
- Tara0
can't believe noone has mentioned kraftwerk-no kraftwerk fans????
- jevad0
omg I am so bummed I didn't make it.....
