but seriously folks...first off, Virtu, while i do commend you on trying to be a gentleman regarding teh ongoing debate here on Iraq (and c'mon guys..his opinions may be vile to us, but atleast he tries to be civil) i have to say, by supporting a war that is baseless, you come across as the worst kind of person....the kind of person that blinds himself to the reality of what is really going on in Iraq, and hides behind a curtain of tired notions like 'we liberated them' and 'we'll find those WMD's yet' and We're staying to keep this country together!"...
i know you believe it all..and that sir, is the real pity.
you seem like a fairly educated guy....i can only assume that in your pursuit of knowledge, you missed a few things....things like 'the ability to see through propaganda'....
this comes as a shock to me..
most folks i know in advertising and design can see through propaganda quite easily..
after all..it's what we do for a living..
and you can't kid a kidder...

ah tyson man....it's not his stance...I admire him for sticking to his guns the way he does...it's the things he says and the blatent ignorance of the way the world works that really gets me. I guess that all comes with growing up...he's pretty young....
- exador10
let me add here though...i really do think virtu, in most ways aquitted himself fairly well here...
he has a different point of view, certainly...
and obviously one that doesn't jive well with most of us..
( i mean, c'mon virtu...it's a design board...most artists lean toward liberal viewpoints..you must know that)but atleast he stands by his guns...
bang bang.

very true jevad...
i totally agree with ya...

virtu:
Only 17 of 150,000 have been caught in the act. And how many saw it and stayed quiet? And how many haven't been caught?

I saw this on Wed night....I think it's a shame....a handful of soldiers (mostly reservists) bringing a great deal of shame to the very military my dad served in. It's not the first time something like this has happend...it happend in Vietnam as well. I'm glad that the Army isn't taking this thing lightly at all. This is not a representation of the Army my dad served in.

you can say that about anything

You think these guys shud be tried for war crimes at an international court?
Not like they will... but shud they?
Oh wait, the US doesn't stand for international accountability - that's for the lesser nations.

pretty much, they told the UN to bugger off

drama queens

The UN wanted to go in too....so said Hans Blitz not but a few weeks ago...they just wanted to give more time.
I definetly think those guys should not only be courtmarshaled but tried in an international court.
No matter what...those guys are all screwed...and I really hope that the welcome that the troops get when they come back isn't effected by what those guys did...even though I know it will.

Man, right-wingers have a strange sense of reality.
