Thats so cool. You can tell how small he is from the perspectives he gets. Real shooting from the hip stuff combined with a funky filter. He finds a point of interest and clicks. Ur a good teacher mrdob's,, shud gimme a lesson sometime :)

Nice! Very impressive. Keep him interested in it.

Nice, but why are so many tilted to the right or left on a shot that would most likely be level?
- jevad0
bloody good eye he's got - keep him at it becuase he could have a fine photographic career
- shwax0

i really like the photos also, but my neck hurts from tilting my head with all those cock eyed shots....very good all together though!

too bad you corrupted the kid with your own advice on what is proper photography.
I would much rather have seen a collection of photos with no direction given to the kid what so ever. grids? why burden his mind with tired concepts like that? he might have gotten past the cliche stuff much quicker had you not said anything and just let him go crazy... just a thought.

Man, that was harsh.

"corrupted the kid"
well you can say that to all teachers then.
my father learned me photography and composition etc. at a very young age.
and i feel more corrupted by his later alcohol problems then the fact that he tought me things about composition..

the compelling aspect of photography IMHO is the opportunity to see things purely through someone else's perspective. the purer the vision the better.
to me the act of teaching photography is everything about the technical process up until the moment the decision is made on who what and why to shoot something. IMHO
the photos are good, but they are corrupted by a person telling the kid about "grid theory" what is good and bad in terms of composition and subject -
I'm going to safely assume that, had the kid been undirected, the photos would be much more interesting... try it out and let's see what happens...

I give it an 8, I'd give it a 9 but I tired of the tilted shots real quick. Interesting though, very cool that you encourage him. I wouldn't say it corrupts at all, it's only after you really understand the rules and why they exist that you can throw them out or circumvent them in any eloquent fashion, not to say you should tell him not to take wierd pictures or anything just that learning is good.

A child's life is like a piece of paper on which every person leaves a mark.

I think the work there is stunning for the age. It trounces my crappy efforts in the past...
On the subject of 'corruption', you don't start learning to ride a bike without stablisers just because it's what everyone else did first.
There is a lot of potential there, and I think if he's given time to develop on his own, he'll be going great guns pretty soon.
5 gold stars.

a empty sheet of paper is full of potential rasko....
aye.
