It's really not only a movie. I guess you can question whether there was a ressurrection or not. Just like people 1,000 years from now will question if there was a holocaust or not. We're just too distanced from the event to be unanimously convinced. And they've got nothing to write this shit down on except for some scraggly parchments that become the bible.
And Mel has earned it. He put his cash, career, and family on the line. Word up!

well said elwolverton.
dobs, you'd be hard pressed to find reputable and respected scholars (i.e. not tabloid scholars) that deny the Jesus crucifixion event in history. the debate centers around the Christian's perspective that Jesus rose from the dead.
of course you'll find the occasional journalist, english professor, or tabloid historian that denies it... but just like you'll find the random engineering professor that denies the holocaust (as seen at Northwestern 8 years back or so).
this shouldn't wierd you out though, just because a guy was killed 2000 years ago doesn't mean what he said was true - that all depends on whether he rose from the dead or not.
(and for the record, there are non-biblical, even non-christian, documents that attest to the facts of the crucifixion)

Hope I'm not getting off the subject but I just wanted to point out what I read in that "Who Killed Jesus" article: ,
"Christ was a Jew crucified by Romans at the request of other Jews in Jerusalem". I always understood it that way. Why were people making such a big deal about who killed Jesus for if the answer is so black and white? One last thing in regards to filling guilt about Christ's death. Anyone that truely know God and Jesus (through the scriptures) would recognize that they do not want us to feel guilt about what was foretold through the prophicies would happen. This was our liberation! Jesus was our saviour and now king after his death. He bought our way into God's kingdom. Yes the entire ordeal was incredibly horrible and extremely sad but now we should be happy for what it truely signified. Stop with the guilt, it's terrible to think that. God being love would not want us to feel like terrible about ourselves. Thinkabout that.

he's very, very rich. I would think at least near the 500 MILLION mark. Think about the interest alone from those amounts. (x_o)
