Realistic in the fact that it was described in the scriptures (obviously something that you either take as real or not). Realistic as well, as in the fact that Jesus was not the only one that was crucified or tortured in those times. The facts are well documented.

And Jesus said not to take money for the work you do where? Never seen that verse?

never buy a bridge if you're in brooklyn.

All of our sins, Planet? What a crock. Sorry, but I'm not buying it. If he died for anything, it was to prove he was selfless and in the hands of God and that we should follow his examples. Sin is a by-product.

religion is used to control people, agree or not?
- planet010
Old Testament practice was to perform animal sacrafice to compensate for sins. While Jesus died for many reasons, his death was symbolic as the final sacrafice to cover our sins. Whether you believe or don't, thats pretty standard doctrine.

Realistic to a point. I believe there are facts in there, but that it's greatly exaggerated. Much like Tony and Adrianne's "affair" on last week's Sopranos.

Some religions - yes. Some religions - no.
Christianity brings more freedom than anything else I have found.

a historic version of the 'telephone' game. translated many times, passed down generation after generation.

Standard doctine as a literal translation is subjective to interpretation.
Whew!
- mrdobolina0
how do you feel about scientology?
- Geith0
lol

"a historic version of the 'telephone' game. translated many times, passed down generation after generation."
It's not surpising you see it that way, being an athiest. However, as a believer, I see the Holy Spirit as guiding and keeping accounts accurate, supernaturally.
- planet010
specifically - what about it?

What i dont get is why are the "atheists" getting so worked up by this? It's like you're personally offended by other people beliefs. A film made by a devout christian with a target audience of other christians. If you don't believe in it. Stay away. Why all the hate?
- mrdobolina0
just curious as to a broad view you may have about scientology.
- kpl0
the hate is because people watch the film, get excited, and start crucifying the easter bunny.
- mrdobolina0
I dont like to see people being jacked for their money with 'faith' on the flipside of the pricetag.
- Geith0
For the record, I'm an agnostic. I believe in God. I'm worked up over a shit film that people praise as gospel.

I honestly don't know a whole lot about it. What I do know seems a little off. These are the people that refuse to go to hospitals and use medicine correct?
I am not sure where they are coming from, scripturally.
