The pathetic thing is I think most people don't really give a damn about what someone else does in their own backyard...but Bush admin uses carefully crafted language to make everyone feel like they are personally being threatened. It's all to distract everyone from how morally bankrupt this administration is.

all my childhood and teenage years i thought this WAS legal in california. i was pretty amazed when i found it wasn't.
once again - if the federal government can't think of why not - SF will move forward.

Some believe that the ancient institution of marriage originated as covenant created by a holy God specifically for one man and one woman.
Some believe that this holy God is grieved by the homosexual lifestyle.
Therefore, some believe it would be wrong to promote the "union" of homosexuals in marriage. Some even believe "outlawing" it is not the goverment's right, but neither is condoning it or providing special rights, etc...

special rights? so a gay couple who has been together for say 17 years shouldn't be able to have the same rights afforded to hetero-couples?
frankly, I don't understand why anyone would want to get married anyway...but I think everyone should have the same rights.

So, how limited are those who don't consider that a limitless God transcends time and that the 6 day reference in Genesis may not literally mean a 24 hour period. :-)
Besides, am I to accept the alternative: Evolution? Maybe, if it didn't contradict scientific laws like the second law of thermodynamics and have a complete lack of transitional forms... but hey, this is probably off the thread topic. ;^)

Some people believe in same sex marriage for themselves as responsible adults. Let's be fair heteros don't have marriage perfected either. It's nice that Bush wants to protect Britany Spears' sanctified marriage, but he should butt out.
