... I haven't heard much from Democrats on this issue in the media -- and usually you don't hear much of the conservative republican side (they're usually the wimps not speaking up)..
... republican / conservatives are ALL over this topic.

my 2 cents: the fear for gay marriage seems to be bigger than the fear for terrorisme. i don't know why someone would object. i haven't heard one logic reason what's bad about it. unless your this orthodox religious type and then you are just as dangerous as any other orthodox religious types in this world. it's quite hypocrit though.

Personally I think this is a defining issue for the double 00's and the dem's are afraid to be caught on the wrong side of the fence...IMO.

we have things called referendums that prevent religious ideologies of the political elite ruling against the peoples wishes.
p.s. very little happens due to religion here anymore. its just an excuse for not remembering whats going on.

because most "fear of gays" americans thinkn that being gay is taught and not simply what you are. There is fear that this will inspire the youth to go fruit loop, plus the government does not want to offer the same tax benefits that married people have to gay people.
The excuse is marriage is sacred ...yeah getting married while drunk in Las Vegas by a fat Elvis that is 100% legal is more sacred.
