What is with all the Jay-Z bashing. Do any of you listen to hip hop at all? or are you just pissed somebody chopped up the Beatles and laid a rap over it?
Jay-Z is not nearly has bad as the other top 40 rappers out today.

Actually Jay-Z is tops of the Top 40 *cough* rappers out there.
Lyrical skills and innovations? Uh, nope. All he "raps" about is his cars and girl's butt's.
Admittedly he's not as bad as "Chingy" or "Nelly" or any one else who's name ends in a Y. But I find his music boring. It all sounds the same, kinda like country...

Fine; it cost you nothin - pay me no mind"- GOD MC, HOVA

that style of hiphop is not art, its a business.
- ok_jason0
I disagree with comment that JayZ lacks lyrical skills.
To each his own I guess.

jay-z is clearly not the best rapper of all time, but his style is solid. he has some good shit. probably the best example is the unplugged album he did with the roots.
grey album is great because its sounds miles ahead of what rap is doing right now, thanks to the beatles and the cutting.
the black album is great on its own. the white album is amazing on its own. (almost a crime to compare the two against each other.) together, it makes something in between, hot and dirty, fresh and retro, but ultimately a great album.
should the beatles have been touched? probably not. but im my mind, it was done respectfully, beautifully and if nothing else reminds a new generation that the beatles were hotter than any shit on mtv will ever be.
2 centavos.

beatles should be chopped, molested, raped, pillaged, etc. They are not above james brown.
they're not jesus either.

I love how if someone doesn't like the pre-packaged hiphop the word 'hater' starts flying around.
- Gilt0010
Well if we're gonna battle with someone else's lyrics then:
"Now I'll attend the wedding of the open sword festering/
Now when the groom presents the ring/
The bride commence to blistering/
This textbook magnificently crude/
Prototype king beserker modulate/
Serve the vertical thirst, burst horizontal"

maybe some of you are missing the point. this is about the riaa and FAIR USE!
- kpl0
don't be disingeneous, dob.
there's a difference between not liking something and voicing mere criticism and being a prick about whos famous or not or whether they deserve it.
if the latter are not haters, then I don't know what are.
- mrdobolina0
I think the word 'hater' should be struck from the world's vocabulary. It is such a cop out. It allows anyone to deattach themselves from any sort of responsibility for anything...
oh they was just hatin'
- 2cent0
dob got told by kpl...good work kpl.
can i get an encore...do you want more...
- mrdobolina0
stop hatin'

Well who do they think they are? LOL! If they wanna use someone elses music to rap to then they have to pay? Right? Why don't they just come up with there own beats to rap too if they are having a problem? Sure, it sounds great but get over yourself and stop using "in the name of art" line. If anything, Jay-Z should know better about what everyone really wants. "Cash rules everthing around me." Pay up you morons.

They should reverse it now, JayZ's beats with the Beatles lyrics
- ok_jason0
Jay Z had nothing to do with Grey Album except for the fact that Danger Mouse used the accapella's from the Black Album.
Underground illegal remix mash up stuff happens all the time, it is just that this one has hit a nerve by touching the beatles.
Everybody should lighten up a bit. It really was an experiment that obviously worked.
