DJ Danger Mouse's recent Grey Album, which remixes Jay-Z's The Black Album and the Beatles White Album, has been hailed as a innovative hip-hop triumph.

unfortunately anything with Jay-Z on it is inevitably shite, which is unfortunate because that album could have been awesome with say blackalicious / j5 / souls of mischief

If you do a search this album has been talked about here, as for hearing it... I wasn't too keen on it. I think I agree rasko.

no doubt rasko, how many references to champagne and expensive cars can people take?

I never understood why he is such a celebrated 'artist'
his style is boooooooooring

Outside of the bling and the thug references, this album is as a sigh of the times to time as much as the whole iPod/mp3 download ing revolution of recently.
I hope to hear more clashing of genres in Hip Hop because that is basically how it all started. It aint all bounce and bass.
This record is high on my list.
My 2 cents.

surely Jay-z was only chosen for the cleverness of mixing white and black

no
not that innovative
only 2 or 3 decent tracks.
they should have let the beatles
play through more.longer sample lengths....

I liked it personally, I agree a little more beatles might do more for it, but good album imho.

I think they should have used MC Pitman instead of JayZ.

JayZ should stay far away from anything affiliated with the Beatles, and that goes for any other hip-hop artist..
my 2 cents

so which tracks are worth dling?

Jay-Z being mentioned in the same sentence as the Beatles is about as sacriligious as that P Diddy stealing a Police song.
One of these days these freakin' "bling rap" idiots will go make their own damn beats. Or better yet, they'll just go away.

"EMI isn't looking for compensation, they're trying to ban a work of art,"
probably because they don't want the beatles being smeared with jay z pooh
