Chicago!

my preference is NYC, i love the subway, the dirt, the energy..... and at least summers in ny do not require me to wear a winter jacket.

...and also more, maybe, info about photo studios, commercial etc. any info on this would be extrememly helpfull. thanks again.

sanfran.. the lesser of two evils.

San fran is a beutiful area, still has a good night life, and yes the market is picking up a bit. We are looking for people here at my work even.
The cool thing about San Fran area is you have the city, the ocean, Napa Valley area, the outskirts of the city are great, Tahoa yada, there is just alot here.
I cant speak for NY but SF is cool in its own right.
They are just totally differnt cities, they might as well be differnt countries, cuz the people are so differnt.

Well, I also have a friend in NYC who has given me the idea that its about 4g's to start up in the city, below 14th I think he said...I don't know how realistic of a number this is..I know another guy living there as well and I don't think its that much...I was wondering if SanFran looks to be this much as well.
I've been to both countries and I may prefer the ability to enjoy all the things outside the SF area.
About the photo thing: my girlfriend is a photographer and will be traveling with me so I thought you guys might have info on some photo studios in the area. I know about craiglist and mediabistro and some other sites but maybe some links to mags or something. thanks.

I live in NYC and yes, it is very expensive to live ANYWHERE in manhattan. Although I have always heard that SF is one of the most expensive cities in the country as well.
If you move to NYC, don't limt yourself to manhattan. Brooklyn and Queens have a ton of nice places to live that are much cheaper (although a lot of them are getting more expensive on account of gentrifaction). I live in the Bronx and its a bit of a commute to my work, but its nice and cheap.

The best thing about Frisco is the herb that comes from Humbolt County, other than that it would just be another town of 700,000 people...
- ok_jason0
I think most of the herb is grown more locally, in the city and Berkeley. But NYC has all sorts of sweet delivery services. pricey but better than the park.

Long Live the Bronx!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where you at adam? I'm up at Fordham

oh and one more thing. besides photography and MG what about "new media". Not the type that has been commercialized and reassigned a new definition but the new media of installation and sound and presentation of new ideas with new ways of exploring and explaining these traditional ideas. thanks.

I'm not to far from you. I'm at Pelham Parkway...right across the park from you.
You go to school there or you just live in the neighborhood?!?
- enobrev0
mmm.. humboldt greenery. can't really compare the cities, as i like em both in their own way. but SF has NY beat in greens. Think it's just the futher west you go the better it gets.

Grad student here at Fordham.
Yeah, checked out your web-site, less than a mile away, what a small world we live in. I'm right off bathgate ave. next to the Autozone and White Castle.
P.S. For everyone else, the white castle off fordham road is pretty well known I guess as a landmark, don't know why, but it is, at least to New Yorkers who don't know where Fordham is.

Both places are nice but when it comes to the art scene, SF can't compete with NYC. SF just has SFMOMA. NYC = Dia, MOMA, Gugeinheim, Whitney, all the galleries in the Chelsea district, etc. Also public transportation in NY is more interesting.
