I'm not an expert in design for print, so this question might be silly (at least it seems silly to me):
Why does Indesign change the colours of an eps done in Illustrator? I am using the same colour settings in both apps (CMYK, Europe prepress defaults) and here is the difference:
The colour values also stay the same (I tried CMYK, RGB and Pantone) - but the colours are different on screen and on the print out.
why?

someone must know?
I'm sure that is not how it is supposed to be.

thats because there is no ink inside your monitor.

haha ... but there is ink in my printer... it is not the monitor! :(

thats just a screen preview, dont rely on colour renditions on screen in apps like illustrator / freehand /quark. You can calibrate your monitor somewhat but those colurs will never be accurate.

...but why are the colours different when I print them (a illustrator printout has different colours to the same thing printed out in indesign)

because they are different bits of software, they will be the same from a press dont worry, otherwise just distill a pdf and print that.
