i do both, i will keep working my tits off fulltime and freelance for the time being.

free lancing in canada is okay if you incorporate....
you pay yourself minimum survival rate....and get taxed at 40%
but the company, the car, the home office (30%) the Xboxes, the digital cameras, the powerbooks etc etc are all free and the remainder is only taxed at 16-17%
if you can work it you can get ahead.

puh...i don't really think i'm over paid, i am in charge of 8 people and, rotary club vice president and write in U.S trade magazines about the polish economy(i lived in poland for 3years, so i'm regarded as a bit of an expert on poland amongst other things-golf, gouache painting, i speak spanish and i am a grade II pelter and dabble in stained glass!)

I know people who pull in 70K+ as a designer 2-3 years out of school.
Do good work for good people and you can make plenty.
Also you need to realize huge variables like location.
Larger cities have much higher wages.
(although often higher costs - depending on the city)
