I'm poor. I can't afford to buy food.
- Donvitoviti0
well if you look at the poverty level that the government considers.. what poverty is...
its like 30k and below or so
- mrdobolina0
donvito, I think that is if you have the 2.5 dependants and a wife though.

back in 2001 when o was unemloyed i made like 10,500
i miss the sleep i used to get

At the end of the day though, it's worth it to sit at a desk 9-5. You should make something like 40% more of a fulltime position to cover expenses.
- Donvitoviti0
true..
30k still sucks though... even for singles.. its just enough to get your shiz paid for and it is hard to save after that

I should be living pretty large when I retire. thing is I will probably not make it to retirement so my lil nephew should be living quite large at the age of 25-30.

like XC01 i earn monopoly money, but i am content and thats what its all about
- mrdobolina0
yep, unless you want to live in the ghetto, I know a few guys that make about 30k, and in my area that isnt doing too bad. These guys live in the ghetto with like 3 others and save every penny.
- mrdobolina0
goodnight yall.
- frankNbeans0
you dying?
- Donvitoviti0
i hate living in the Bay area.. your whole perspective of money gets all out of wak compared to the rest of the nation.
I have some friends who moved here with a pay raise.. but they went from like 35 in like Oregon to like 45k here
They are scraping by here with 45k ...
making 45 k here in the bay is like making 25k most other places.
its really wierd

are you freelance sexypixel?
- sexypixel0
no, fulltime. Did freelannce for 2 years but worked dried up for about 4 months this time last year, had to sell everything and go fulltime, i like the security and the benifits but miss the random hours
- XC010
was the money much better? i've been thinking about going freelance for years but i have a mortgage and the stability is very important.
- hotel0
not enough.
- sexypixel0
i wouldnt risk freelance yet, my main problem is that i am purely a web designer and havent branched out into print and video. but if you are multi-dicaplined, freelance would probably be a good thing.
