Unless they are significantly cheaper and/or Apple has a plan to separate their version from this version (besides white meets blue) I cant see why anyone would want to buy one of these instead of the real thing. Its the same thing, same idea, with a different logo on it. Carly can boost how "they are everywhere" all she wants but if some computer buyer and music lover does not know of the ipod but DOES only know of HP then they are living under a rock. HP getting them in more stores is a lame excuse for a merger. Apple could easily get ipods into store now if they would budge on their product policies a bit. Why spend energy letting another company sell the EXACT same product and pretend it's theirs by adding their logo instead of aggressively working on getting retail owners to care the original product. The whole thing makes absolutely no sense to me.
I think there is more behind this pretty friendship and that Apple has some tricks up their sleeve to separate A from B. Let's say HP sells this thing 100.00 cheaper than Apple cause they can. If it works the same EXACT way- I don't care what color it is cosumers will pay for the cheaper model. In my opinion this makes Apple look foolish and confirms that their prices are bloated in most cases.

it is spelled out quite clearly. Apple want iTunes on PCs. HP sells lots of PCs resulting with iTunes being ready to go on a lot of computers right out of the box instead Windows Media Player.
Apple makes a blue iPod for them in return for this favor.

whiteSneaks is bang on. It's simply Apple taking a feather from Microsoft's cap. It'll be interesting to see how it goes over in Redmond and how successful the endevor is.

its just like how Duracell makes batteries for Safeway and safeway puts their name on them.
The only surprise is people wouldnt think apple would do something like this.
Oh well.. in the end you will prob get the HP cheaper to do HP playing the rebate game.

i think the only associtation to HP in regards to the iPod will by the corporate blue.
i think it would have to be a cold day in hell before apple would put someone elses logo on it.
this is a great move for apple.

actually, the hp logo is on the back.
the start-up screen will still be the apple.
- Donvitoviti0
what kpl said...
i was shocked to see the HP logo on the back... that pissed me off... atleast put an apple/hp logo
- mrdobolina0
why do you care?
- enobrev0
were you really that pissed? shocked even?
- brundlefly0
words can't describe the forlorn felt, upon the realization, of the sad, singular logo.
