Fuck me, Fuck the critics... if you love a it ... you love it.

this film was so beautiful.
just beautiful.
very heavy on my body - so much to take in.

this is not only an incredibly wonderful achievement in a trilogy, but the entire trilogy as a whole is stunning. how peter jackson was able to put to screen this incredibly intelligent, fantastic and literate story amazes me...and how some people still manage to complain stuns me.
ex: why is everyone complaining about the "15 ending scenes"? wtf? i know some of you haven't read the book but for those of us who have, all the pieces were important. indeed, much was left out.
apparently, unless you follow the traditional formulaic rhythm of a film some people simply freak out. one of the most important things in the book is the manner in which frodo reacts to coming home and his ultimate realisation that it is impossible for him to rejoin his life. this only takes a few minutes in the film but you'd rather just chop off the last 15 minutes?
its not a puppet show, you know?

seriously though...
the whole trilogy was fantastic...
the only down side, in truth, is that it's over...

the best thing I can say about it is that from the 1st one to the last I hardly went to the cinema, because I knew nothing would come up to the LOTR standard.
he has made a film, that makes other films look crap

Re: The Ending >>
" Another supposed letdown, however, proves to be anything but. Early critics have cited a meandering quality to the last 30 minutes, believing that Jackson fails to wrap things up adequately. That misses the point a bit. Not only does he considerably streamline the ending of the book, but more importantly, he retains a key theme that adds new poignancy to the saga as a whole. Tolkien understood that great struggle has an equally great cost, which irrevocably marks those who pay it. Wounds linger, scars fail to heal, and even in triumph, some things are lost which cannot be regained. Jackson develops this into a beautiful denouement, capturing the iconic moments of the book and allowing us to reflect on the 10-plus hours that preceded it. The Lord of the Rings is about more than whether the good guys win; truncating the ending would have done it a grave disservice. "
Well said !
...but Gollum still looked shit drowning in the lava :)

Fuck me! Did any of you read the review on the link Gabriel posted?!? That must be a piss-take, no way could one man be so stupid. Please, please read it - it's unbelievable!

hey slag, i'm with you on that. this year i've seen 2 films at the cinema, including this one. most other films are crap (not just by comparison) and it has been a pleasure waiting for this one.
oh and yep, gollum did look like crap in the lava. the falling was ok, but the writhing around was cheesy.

it's been a while since i read the books, but didn't the hobbits return to the shire and find saurons factories?
- cosmo0
the movie was great. Loved it.
But what was the deal with the gay hobbits. I thought they were about to kiss at the very end. And also why the F*CK is liv tyler in that movie, pisses me off she got paid for that stupid ass character, and all she did was 'I can't breathe.....Aargon....agent smith.'
- smellvetica0
oi.. liv rocks.
- sputnik0
saruman is supposed to come back and burn the shire and the hobbits resist. if memory serves, grima wormwood is saruman's vehicle for this evil malfeasance.
- lee_b0
yeah, wormtongue goes back to the shire originally. wasn't he called Sharkey or something similar?
- sputnik0
wormwood, wormtongue...not enough coffee yet!
that's one creepy actor too...always.
